Haris Studios
A short walk from the
town centre (5 minutes) and 10 minutes to the beaches is the family business
of Haris Studios, run by Haris & Flora Arkalakis.
Situated on the sea front with views out to the distant horizon
and the mountains in the east we offer a tranquil place for
your holiday where we welcome families, couples and individuals
of all ages, many of whom return each year to enjoy the simple
charm of a holiday in this delightful location.
You will find us in the 'old town', known locally as Gavdiotika,
named after the many settlers who came here early last century
from the island of Gavdos to make a new life and build their
homes, most of which looked out to their birthplace. |

It's easy to see why they would
want to settle on this rocky shoreline and a few of the
old stone houses with their sense of history remain (and
a few fine old characters inhabiting them!!) . Now the view
can be enjoyed by all............
And it's a great view, which eight of our nine accommodations
offer - either a private balcony on the first floor or a
private terrace on the ground floor, all with table, chairs
and sun umbrella. Many hours can be spent here watching
the sun rise from behind the mountains - enjoying the ferries
and fishing boats - seeing the flash of blue-green from
the darting of the kingfishers - laughing at the local cats as they

foolishly try to catch fish in the rock pools (will they never learn??)
- hoping for an occasional sighting of dolphins - making new
dreams as the fiery full moon slips up out of the sea -sending
out wishes while sitting under the panoply of stars, waiting
for a 'shooter'. The sea across from the rooms (all of 6 metres away) is great for a quick dip, if you are nimble footed across the rocks, it also makes for great snorkeling fun.
All the studios and apartments have a small well-equipped
kitchen, dining area and toilet /shower, hair dryer, air-conditioning, wi-fi, washing machine hire as well as access to the small swimming pool, garden and roof terrace at Studios Yiorgos. . We have a selection
of twin, double and family accommodation and all rooms are
serviced daily except a Sunday; linens are changed regularly
- every 4/5 days.
A studio is a one-room-with-everything plus the toilet/shower
and sleeps 2. An apartment has one bedroom and another room
with the kitchen, dining and a pull down sofa bed, it |

sleeps 3, or 4 if another
fold out bed is added - suitable for chiildren. A baby bed is available
but please let us know in advance.
Our rates are fair for the standard and service; in addition to
the sea view rooms we have a double bed garden studio with price
to include breakfast at our Water's Edge Cafe.
A simple breakfast (Freshly Squeezed Orange Juice, Tea/Coffee,
Boiled Egg, Toast, Butter and Marmalade) can be added to the cost
of our other rooms, just add 4 Euro per person for each day
of the holiday. If you prefer to have a selection of different
breakfast items during your holiday take a look at the Water's
Edge Cafe page - no need to book in advance, we are there every
day! However, we do try and give preference to our house guests
if we are preparing one of our delicious Saturday night dinners,
so do book a table for this event.

Winter monthly rates - Haris 350 euro / Yiorgos 450 euro for 2 person sharing,
discount offered if staying for over 3 months.
